MiTAC Holdings Corporation and Mio, a brand under MiTAC Digital Technology Corporation, jointly donated dash cams to the Guishan Precinct of the Taoyuan Police Department.

Local police forces are often under an immense workload; their duties not only include daily inspections, patrols, spot inspections, guard and shift duties, but also crime investigations, etc. Furthermore, police officers often encounter dynamic situations on the job that require real-time audio and video recording and response. In upholding the spirit of care and giving back to the community, Mio, a leading brand of dash cams and a subsidiary of MiTAC Holdings Corporation (TWSE: 3706), contacted the Taoyuan City Guishan Police Precinct before the start of the Lunar New Year to inquire about donating units of Mio’s high-tech dual-lens dash cams. The company hopes to empower the Guishan Police Precinct, whose jurisdiction covers the area where Mio’s headquarters are located, in their performance of formidable duties during public holidays and to express support and gratitude to the frontline police officers for their hard work in safeguarding peace and security of the community.

Steve Chang, President of MiTAC Digital Technology Corporation, led colleagues to the Guishan Precinct of the Taoyuan City Police Department to donate the devices, with Precinct Head Tsai Chi-Jen accepting the donation on behalf of the precinct. The donation package includes Mio's most advanced high-end dual-lens car dash cams and the rider dash cams. The donated dash cams will be deployed in the police vehicles of the Guishan Precinct’s teams, squads, and police stations for use while on duty.

Steve remarked that “Incidents occur every day on the road. Technology is constantly evolving, and we are constantly offering products with the latest technology and thoughtful design to help improve driving safety. That is why Mio is once again the No. 1 dash cam market leader in Taiwan in 2021 with its lineup of high-quality products. We have been looking for the right opportunity to contribute our expertise and give back to society, so we started by donating to the police station where our headquarters is located, hoping that this action can lead to a good and positive cycle for all.”

Billy Ho, President of MiTAC Holdings Corporation and Chairman of MiTAC Digital Technology Corporation, pointed out that “as a company that values ESG sustainability, MiTAC Holdings aims to achieve sustainable development of intelligent technology, connection  , and the environment, and pursues corporate growth while continuously investing in social welfare activities by leveraging its technology and capabilities. At the beginning of the new year, we have a lot of exciting social welfare initiatives in the pipeline, and the donation of dash cams is just a start. We will continue to take on countless initiatives and spread the company's positive impact across society.”
